Meet Our Dentists

Dr. Nolan Robinson was born and raised in the Southern Tier, and is proud to be serving our hometown community. He is a graduate of nearby Hobart College, where he earned his bachelor of science in chemistry and was a two-year captain for the football team. Dr. Robinson began his career in dentistry at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, where he graduated magna cum laude and as a member of the OKU National Dental Honor Society. He then completed an Advanced General Dentistry Residency at The Ohio State University and remained in Columbus, Ohio with a private practice for over a year before returning to the Binghamton area.

Dr. Robinson believes in a comprehensive medical approach to achieving optimal dental health. He has a passion for implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and working with the latest advances in dental technology. As an advisor and guest lecturer, Dr. Robinson works with students and faculty at Binghamton University, specifically in the Biomedical Engineering Department, to develop technology and research initiatives to advance dental medicine. During his training in Buffalo, Dr. Robinson participated in research on dental implants and bone physiology, and continues to receive advanced training on implants and the utilization of digital dental technology to optimize surgical and restorative outcomes.  In addition, Dr. Robinson has advanced training in both sedation dentistry and pediatric dentistry through his residency program at The Ohio State University.

Outside of the practice Dr. Robinson loves spending time with his wife Megan, and his two children, Quinn and Grant. He is an avid golfer, enjoys hiking in the Adirondacks, and being around family and friends. As a proud alumnus, Dr. Robinson attends many sporting events to cheer on the Hobart Statesmen and Ohio State Buckeyes. He is a self proclaimed wine connoisseur in training, enjoys culinary arts, reading, collecting antiques, and is always listening to jazz or classical music.

Dr. Christiaan “Fritz” Zietsman was born and raised in South Africa and moved to New York State when he was 17.  He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a major in Biology from Purchase College in Westchester, N.Y. where he met his wife, Lauren.  Dr. Zietsman was one of 40 students selected to attend the Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine on Long Island, N.Y., where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a doctorate degree in dental surgery.  During his dental schooling, he developed a deep passion for restorative and prosthetic dentistry and distinguished himself in several advanced standing courses.  Subsequently, Dr. Zietsman pursued a 3-year post-graduate education at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health in Rochester, N.Y., earning his specialty certificate as a board-eligible Prosthodontist.  He worked in private practice on Long Island before settling in Binghamton to raise his two sons, Maxwell and Julian.  He has experience working in both private practice and in a hospital-based dental setting to serve the needs of medically complex patients.   

As one of only 3,500 Prosthodontists in the U.S., Dr. Zietsman is uniquely qualified in the complex restoration of missing and broken-down teeth with the most advanced and natural-looking substitutes available.  He is passionate about using implants, veneers, crowns, bridges and dentures to engineer a smile that is both beautiful and functional.  He loves the thrill of transforming his patient’s lives through their smile.  Dr. Zietsman is committed to providing the highest level of care and an exceptional patient experience with our team at Vestal Dental.

In his free time, Dr. Zietsman soaks up every minute he can with his wife, kids and friends.  They can usually be found hiking in our beautiful Southern Tier, playing in the backyard, reading through piles of books surrounded by mountains of Lego, or hosting parties with friends and family.  He and his wife believe settling in Binghamton was the best decision they could’ve made, other than marrying each other! They are proud to be part of the community and hope to sow love and kindness into it whenever they can.
